On Saturday 6th October, we took 25 pupils to the annual Reigate Grammar School Model United Nations Conference. This is a well-established conference, and this year it was attended by over twenty schools, including The London Oratory, City of London and Kings School, Canterbury.
Representing six different countries, the pupils from Royal Russell School debated issues such as stem cell research, regulation of the internet and fracking. The pupils performed extremely well in the debates, with Barty receiving a highly commended awarded, and Georgia winning the outstanding delegate award for her committee.
In addition to the pupils debating in committee and general assembly, we had David and Alice who attended as chairs of two of the committees where they acquitted themselves excellently.
Overall it was a very successful day, much enjoyed by all.
