21 Royal Russell students attended the 2013 City of London one day MUN conference in March. This was a really well organised conference which provided a great opportunity for some of our less experienced delegates to attend a conference and get debating. There were six committees mainly made up of sixth form students and the standard of debate was impressive. Despite this all of our students made speeches and Maria, Michelle and Barty managed to get their resolutions debated. Our students did fantastically and three of them – Tiggy, Barty and Michelle – won the best delegate in their committee, whilst Maria was chosen as one of the two highly commended delegates in her committee. The fact that two of our award winners were Year 10 students and one was Year 11 shows how strong our MUNners are at the moment. At the end of the conference our USA delegation – Maria, Badshah, Ella, Michelle, Barty and Oleg – won one of the two Best delegation awards.
